Though some heroes are no longer with us, their legacy endures through Adamenko’s heartfelt storytelling.

This moving book describes the individual lives of ordinary people in an extraordinary situation: defending their freedom in a terrible war against invaders. Their courage shines through as the author describes their personalities and experiences. It helped me understand on a human level the character of modern Ukrainians and their determination to fight for the survival of their country.

Great book. It gives a chance to get to know the true heroes of the undeclared war on Ukraine that has been going on since 2014. It tells real stories of ordinary people who fight at the front line from a first-person perspective. Highly recommended.
